Injury cases in Hauppauge

The Hauppauge Industrial Park is the largest of its kind on Long Island: hundreds of manufacturing, warehousing, distribution and light-industrial businesses in one dense grid off Veterans Memorial Highway and the Long Island Expressway at Exit 57. The injury profile follows: machinery and press injuries, forklift and pallet-jack accidents, loading-dock falls, racking collapses and repetitive-trauma claims, plus the truck traffic moving through it all day.

Almost every one of these begins as a workers' compensation claim, and comp is the floor rather than the ceiling.

It pays medical treatment and part of lost wages and nothing for pain and suffering. The case that changes a worker's outcome is usually against somebody other than the employer — the building owner, a delivery company whose driver was unloading, a machine's manufacturer where a guard was missing or defeated, a contractor working on the premises. Those third-party claims run alongside the comp file, and the carrier's lien on the recovery under WCL § 29 is negotiable rather than fixed.

Hauppauge also carries some of the most expensive paid search on Long Island for this work, which tells you how contested these cases are. Suffolk cases are filed in Riverhead.

No complaints at all. Everything went according to what they said and I’m thankful for their representation.

If there was more than 5 stars Seth Fields and his associates would get them all. Mr. FIelds went to trial with a jury in Suffolk Cty Riverhead Supreme Ct & won w/ a verdict in minutes for 100% Liability. The defense worked with Mr. FIelds in a settlement before the damages trial began. I would stop here searching any further & contact Seth Fields if you want a Smart, Attainable for your questions, concerns, Empathetic to your needs but a Bull Dog with your case, then you found your attorney.I can’t thank you enough for all your long hours, weekends, holidays that you put into 7 yrs of all my medical, motions, hearings & trial etc. WE WON! You did it and obtained a large settlement that I couldn’t be more happy after this long tough journey. I would refer everyone to you that has a case that needs fighting for. 🙏

The most amazing, professional and knowledgeable with great communicators with injury law, and I highly recommend that there is no reason for second and third opinions on procuring a law firm with their experience and know how. They are second to none. My time was precious, and they respected every minute of it. Thank you!

Questions from Hauppauge

Not answered here? A lawyer will answer it, free and at any hour.

Ask us directly
My employer's insurer is handling everything. Do I need a lawyer?
The comp carrier is not on your side, and comp alone never pays for pain and suffering. The question worth asking early is whether anyone other than your employer contributed — because that is a separate claim, and it has its own deadline.
A machine guard had been removed before I was hurt.
That points at a product claim against the manufacturer, and possibly at whoever removed or defeated it. Do not let the machine be repaired, modified or returned — preserve it exactly as it was and photograph it.
Can I be fired for filing?
Retaliation for filing a workers' compensation claim is prohibited in New York. If it happens, tell us — it is a separate problem with its own remedies.
