Injury cases in Wantagh

Wantagh is where Nassau's South Shore meets the Wantagh State Parkway and the causeway to Jones Beach, and that shapes the caseload. Summer weekend traffic to the beach is heavy, fast and full of drivers who do not know the road; the parkway's narrow lanes, tight curves and low bridges were designed in the 1920s and are unforgiving of it. Sunrise Highway and Merrick Road carry the year-round volume through the commercial strip.
  1. 01

    The parkway's ownership matters.

It is a State road, and a claim arising from its design, maintenance or a defect in it goes to the Court of Claims — an entirely different procedure with a notice of intention normally due within 90 days. A collision with another driver on the same road is an ordinary case against that driver, on the ordinary deadlines. Which of the two you have depends on what actually caused it.

  2. 02

Wantagh is unincorporated: the Town of Hempstead and the county maintain the local streets, both with 90-day notice requirements.

Nassau cases are filed in Mineola.

If there was more than 5 stars Seth Fields and his associates would get them all. Mr. FIelds went to trial with a jury in Suffolk Cty Riverhead Supreme Ct & won w/ a verdict in minutes for 100% Liability. The defense worked with Mr. FIelds in a settlement before the damages trial began. I would stop here searching any further & contact Seth Fields if you want a Smart, Attainable for your questions, concerns, Empathetic to your needs but a Bull Dog with your case, then you found your attorney.I can’t thank you enough for all your long hours, weekends, holidays that you put into 7 yrs of all my medical, motions, hearings & trial etc. WE WON! You did it and obtained a large settlement that I couldn’t be more happy after this long tough journey. I would refer everyone to you that has a case that needs fighting for. 🙏

The most amazing, professional and knowledgeable with great communicators with injury law, and I highly recommend that there is no reason for second and third opinions on procuring a law firm with their experience and know how. They are second to none. My time was precious, and they respected every minute of it. Thank you!

Ask us directly
My crash was on the Wantagh Parkway.
If another driver caused it, it is an ordinary claim against them. If the roadway itself — a defect, a missing guardrail, the design of a curve — contributed, the State is a potential defendant and the Court of Claims rules apply, with a notice of intention normally due within 90 days.
I was hurt at Jones Beach.
Jones Beach is State parkland, so the same Court of Claims track applies. Report the incident to a lifeguard or park staff and get the report number if you can.
How soon do you need to hear from me?
With any State or municipal defendant, within days rather than months. Even in an ordinary case, camera footage and vehicle evidence disappear quickly.
